There are others, but these are generally the most popular I’ve found. If your preferred retailer isn’t listed, try a search for “Brian Kittrell” on ...

The Dying Times Reviewed by Jackson Free Press

Posted by:

How exciting! A favorable review from the Jackson Free Press, a local newspaper in my area. I’m stoked!

To read the full article, click here.

Basically, I was wallowing in my own self-pity for slogging along through The Circle of Sorcerers and worrying over finishing it when I checked my email on my phone. I have Google Alerts for my book titles plus my name, mainly for thanking reviewers or getting involved in conversations about the books when they ...

Falling Off the Shelf

Posted by:

Due to some sort of Amazon glitch, The Dying Times has “fallen off” the virtual shelf at that retailer. I can only say that saying it has been a stressful time since this happened is an understatement.

I’ve been working with Amazon’s KDP service to get the title reinstated, but it’s not back yet. The paperback editions of both books are still available, and the Kindle version of the second book is still up. Hopefully, it will be resolved quickly and ...

The Dying Times now for $0.99

Posted by:

You heard it right.  The Dying Times is now available for only 99 cents.  It’s the closest to a free sample of the series that I can drag myself kicking and screaming to accept.  I haven’t decided if I will leave it at that price forever or increase it again after The War of the Dead comes out.  Maybe it will depend on whether or not it sells well at this new price tag.  It has so far, but I’ll ...

The Dying Times Cover Finalized

Posted by:

This is an older article. Please refer to the newer stuff!

The Dying Times: Nadene’s Story has received its final cover design.  The only thing that will change at this point is if any further reviews come in that need to be added to the back cover.  I have included a 60%-size preview of the cover below.

It has been a long time in the making, but, finally, Nadene’s story shall be told to the world!  I am very pleased that ...

Another Review in for The Dying Times

Posted by:

This review is from Nickie Hopkins, an independent reviewer.  She said,
Unlike Stephen King or even Jack London, “Dying Times” was easier to follow, and yet at the same time, just as interesting. An excellent read.  If this book was a movie, I would be the first one in line to buy my ticket.
– Nickie Hopkins, Reviewer
Thanks, Nickie!  Glad to have positive reviews coming in!

Working on The Dying Times Cover

Posted by:

Getting some work done on The Dying Times: Nadene’s Story‘s cover.  I’m thinking it’s not looking too bad.  It took a little bit of editing to get it whipped into shape.  All in all, I’m liking it.

This is, of course, a lower resolution version of the final cover.  Posting the actual one up on the website would burn way too much bandwidth.  Besides, the fine detail can be saved for the print version.

From left to right, back row:  John, Wayne, ...

Review from Author at Lighthouse Dreams

Posted by:

Though certainly not the same genre of book, there are plenty of positive things said and a couple of things for me to work on before the final release in November.  Here are the reviewer’s words:

“This book shows definite potential to be a great novel.  It held my interest although it needs further development of the characters and dialogue.  Despite it’s flaws, it has good flow though it does suffer from some continuity problems.  I do appreciate the chance to ...

The Dying Times receives 5 Star Review!

Posted by:

My first novel, The Dying Times: Nadene’s Story, has received a five-star review from a professional reviewer.  This is great news!  The novel is due to be out by the last week in November, 2010.  The review should be placed in the October issue of the Midwest Book Review, and also posted on the reviewer’s blog, Whispering Winds Book Reviews.  Now, I’m just waiting on the cover art to be completed, and we’re in ...
