Prisoner and Survivor: William’s Story is the third book in The Survivor Chronicles series set in a post-apocalyptic world filled with flesh-eating undead zombies.  It tells the story from the perspective of William,  a convicted murderer and ex-psychologist who was still locked away in jail when the attacks occurred. From his escape from jail to encountering other survivors along the way, William is forced to make decisions that mean the difference between living and dying.

The third book in the series follows William closely as he battles not only the living dead but his own nature. Can a man really change?

The Circle of Sorcerers to Release October 26th, 2011

We have gotten a firm release date of October 15th, 2011, and the book is back with the editor following her first edit and my revisions. Now,we undergo the same process in the second edit, but it should be much faster than the first since we have gone through the whole thing, and the second edit consists primarily of negotiating any other changes not covered in the first edit.

Retailers may list the 25th of September as the release date until they update their records based upon the ISBN registry data at Bowker’s. I’m just glad that we now have a firm release date, and that release date falls before the Christmas season.

The Circle of Sorcerers is the first in a fantasy series entitled The Mages of Bloodmyr, and each book is centered around the sorcerers, mages, and clergy of the Bloodmyr Isles. It is a young adult fantasy series.

The Circle of Sorcerers in Editing

The Circle of Sorcerers is in editing, and I’ve set a tentative date of September 25th for release. I should get the book back from Lynn O’Dell sometime this week or maybe next week, and then go through and make revisions as needed. If I’m confident for a September release, I’ll go ahead and begin finalizing everything for the 25th. I think this one can get out the door by October 1st.

A World Forsaken is cranking along as described in the other post I made today. It’s taken a bit longer to write than I would have liked, so it will be before the end of the year, and hopefully it will fall in September or maybe the beginning of October. Though I wanted to avoid it, we may see two new releases in the same week.

The Dying Times Goes Free

In an effort to give readers a free chance at an extended sample, The Dying Times is free on major retailers in eBook format. Here are the links to save you some time:

There are others, but these are generally the most popular I’ve found. If your preferred retailer isn’t listed, try a search for “Brian Kittrell” on their local search engine, and it should pop up on most. If there is a retailer that you would like added, I’m more than happy to explore every distributor, so email me and let me know.

The Omnibus Cometh

Survivor Chronicles Omnibus

Survivor Chronicles Omnibus cover

I am in the process of releasing an omnibus edition of The Survivor Chronicles released so far. It is the compilation of the first three books of the series in one eBook. That way, people who haven’t read the books yet have a chance to catch up before the last one is released around the end of September. It also comes with a slightly reduced price tag, making The Dying Times free when all three are purchased at the same time.

Thanks to the readers who have made these books a great success. Raise a cup to the fans!

I will post some more info here when it is available for download.

Note: At the present time, this is an eBook-only edition, but I do plan on combining the paperbacks into a single ISBN so they can be purchased all three at once, also. I’ll be putting a discount on those, also. I just have to get in touch with my distributor to make sure it goes smoothly and find out what all is needed.

Whew! The Dying Times is Back

The Dying Times has returned to Amazon. It lost its sales rank, but the tags and reviews stayed attached to it. So, it’s a hit, but it wasn’t a total loss. (Thank goodness!)

Falling Off the Shelf

Due to some sort of Amazon glitch, The Dying Times has “fallen off” the virtual shelf at that retailer. I can only say that saying it has been a stressful time since this happened is an understatement.

I’ve been working with Amazon’s KDP service to get the title reinstated, but it’s not back yet. The paperback editions of both books are still available, and the Kindle version of the second book is still up. Hopefully, it will be resolved quickly and soon.

The Next Big Thing

The Circle of Sorcerers cover

The Circle of Sorcerers cover first draft

I’ve been writing zombie stories for most of this year. Well, I’ve been writing zombie stories since 2009, but have only recently published them. I have one more in the series to write, and the currently finished book and the one to be written to release. I’ve enjoyed writing the zombie stories, and I appreciate all the positive feedback and encouragement that the series has received so far. It was my first adventure in writing and publishing at novel length, and I have been generally successful with them.

What’s in store next? Now that I have my “sea legs” as far as publishing is concerned, it’s time to move into a wider, more expansive market and audience. Epic fantasy will be my next great experiment in the world of writing.
