And… we’re back! Whew! That only took a couple of days!

I am still in the process of getting everything moved, switched, and configured, but the main website is back up. For now, my email accounts for the @latenitebooks.com domain will be down. Apologies to all affected by this issue. They should be back in working order tomorrow morning.

More to follow.

Coming Soon: Cure: The Panacea Series, #1

Posted by:

cover_concept_comp1_largeTake the world we live in and add a device which can cure virtually any disease. This is the story of the near-future world of Cure and how Panacea I, a revolutionary medical device, came into being.

The Panacea Device is placed into the very capable hands of marketing executive Dylan Cross. The device, a robot smaller than a human cell, seems to be the answer to most of humanity’s ...

Publishing Services on Indefinite Hold

Posted by:

I’ve placed the publishing services on indefinite hold for new clients. It was just taking too much time away from my own projects. I have to focus on my own stuff before I can worry about doing formatting for others. So, until further notice (probably March or so), the publishing services branch of my company will be on extended hold.

Also wasn’t able to get anyone trained for the assistant formatter position, so that has been a factor in the decision ...

A Brief Hospital Trip

Posted by:

I’m lucky to be out of the hospital. I talked briefly about it on the Facebook page, but I’ll go ahead and update those who don’t visit there. I developed an infection in my leg, and for that, I had to visit the hospital for about four days. Everything’s fine now–well, still a bit sore in the affected leg, but I’ll be fine now–and I’m back at it.

The paperback and hardcover release for Consuls of the Vicariate will be soon. ...

Author L.C. Evans Passes

Posted by:

It is with great reverence and sorrow that I share the news of the death of L.C. Evans. A fellow author and kind friend to everyone at Kindle Boards, Linda will be missed. The announcement came from Barbara Silkstone early this morning:

It is with great sorrow that I share  ~ We lost one of our own last night. Our beloved and lovely lady, Linda Evans succumbed to her battle with cancer.

She fought ...

The Author Turns 29 Tomorrow

Posted by:

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the 29th anniversary of my existence. 30 is only around the corner. :)

What do I want for my birthday? Well, if you’re here reading this, you’ve likely already given it: your support. Even though I’d love to hear more from you guys who visit, I know there are lurkers out there who come by regularly and read the posts, check out the books, and enjoy ...

Author Video Interviews in the Works

Posted by:

I’ve always loved watching my favorite writers on video interviews, even if it’s just to answer questions from emails and interviewers not necessarily in the same room. Therefore, I’ve purchased a “home studio kit” after researching the best camera for me. I went under $200.00 for a rather nice setup with a tripod and microphone jack on the camera. I watched numerous reviews on the model to make sure it would do what I want. For the kind of needs ...

Giveaway Finished!

Posted by:

I’ve finished the giveaway, and everyone has their prizes. Congrats to Ann for winning the Kindle 3G! Congrats to the others who walked away with some cool Survival Chronicles books and eBooks! Congrats to everyone who won, and a big thanks for everyone who participated.

I was scared to host a giveaway of such a size and scale at first, but it really paid off. Most important of all, it felt good to give something back to the readers. I’ve started ...

February Report, 120 days later

Posted by:

It’s been four months since The Dying Times hit the scene, and about 23 days since The War of the Dead was released. I’m here to report on sales rankings, sales numbers, and so forth. People ask me about this all the time, and I promise, as always, to include some shiny graphs and stuff. I will include sales from all channels as of 02/25, and they shouldn’t change a huge amount until the end of the month.

The Dying Times

I’ll ...

KindleProcessor, a tool from Late Nite Books

Posted by:

I have created the KindleProcessor, a tool for processing manuscripts into properly-formatted (in essence, cosmetically “pretty” and easier to read) versions.  Basically, you put in your quarter, upload the file, and it sends you a file that can be uploaded straight to Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing site for immediate distribution.

The project started as a simple automated macro for me to format my own Kindle eBooks, but I decided to share the tool with others who need ...

The Dying Times has cleared 1000 sales

Posted by:

The Dying Times has cleared the 1000 sales mark in the first 3 months it has been out.  Sales on other titles add to the numbers and remain steady, as well.

It would only be proper to thank the readers who have made this possible.  Without them, my material wouldn’t be read and would remain in obscurity.  I appreciate all of the readers who have given me a chance so far, and I hope many more will give The Survivor Chronicles ...

I am planning to offer a giveaway beginning in January, 2011, consisting of a Kindle 3G, as (usually) seen on the front page of Amazon.com, and a few other goodies for second and third prizes, such as signed copies.

Stay tuned.  I am working out the full details of the sweepstakes, and I’ll have it ready by January 1st.

One way to enter will be through purchasing digital or print copies of the book, but don’t worry:  anyone ...

Late Nite Books now Hosted with BlueHost!

Posted by:

Yes, yes, I know.  I should have switched a long time ago.  I was with iPage, but it just wasn’t handling WordPress very well, and it was pretty slow.

I’m with BlueHost now, and I can tell I like it already.  Just visiting the tech support was enough to sell me on this hosting service.  I know I’m an author who writes books, and I should probably be talking about my book in these posts, but I ...
