The Mages of Bloodmyr – Fourth Novel? Not Exactly.

Posted by:

I have just seen a new search term, “a mages of bloodmyr novel 4 release date” appear in the tracking tools. Basically, people are getting here by searching for that phrase, so let me answer the question. 🙂 The Mages of Bloodmyr series is complete, but the characters and the world of Bloodmyr will continue forward. My current plans are to continue with a new fantasy series (which is the same world and probably will focus on one of the characters we’ve already encountered) in the year 2013.

I have a science fiction book that I must write before I consider the next fantasy series. My current hope is to write and release books basically under this format/schedule: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Fantasy, and so forth. Perhaps a horror novel mixed in somewhere if the inspiration really strikes me, and there will likely be a roleplaying game and its supplements somewhere in between the novel releases.

So, the Mages of Bloodmyr series is complete; however, the world of Bloodmyr, the Sorcerers of Bloodmyr, and the Azuran church… well, things are just getting started. Lots and lots of tales to come, both in our fantasy world and in the universe at large. 🙂

The point of view will be Ismerelda’s, for the “fourth” of this series, which is more or less a “bridge” book between two different series. When we return to the main characters of this series, people will be a little older, and I will likely write it more like the second book was, with the chapters being from different points of view, but more often than I’ve done previously.

Thank you for the praise. It’s rare in this line of work, as it is with any, I suppose. 🙂

Oh, i hadnt even thought of Ismerlda! I dont want to pry ( at least nit too much) aboutthe book, so feel free not to answersome questions, first, will the story pick up with Lae arriving at ismereldas place,or with his mothers training with her. Next, will you still visit in on lae and Val? And lastly, and most important, will there be a 5th book or will book four wrap things up?

Thank you for your questions. I love interviews, questions, and all of the things like them. 🙂 And sorry for not replying sooner; I’ve been having a couple of problems with my blog that it doesn’t notify me of changes. I had to turn it off because there is so much spam (and it notifies me of ALL of them), but I’ve heard that some updates in the blog software may help with that.

And before I answer anything, always keep in mind that this is the plan, not necessarily the finished outcome. Things can change in editing and in the writing. So, some things could be a little different, but I am planning to include everything I mention.

Actually, we’re going way back. The Great War, as referenced in The Circle of Sorcerers. There is such a story there that I can’t get it out of my head: Ismerelda, at Azura’s side, during the times of teaching mortals about magic, about the war which followed, and exploring all of the characters involved in the foundations of the world we saw in the Mages series.

Since we’re seeing this story as explored by Laedron (and through the eyes of Ismerelda in her recorded journal), we see Laedron between the chapters, advancing his age and time in the world to the point where the next major series will begin.

Beyond that, there should be books coming out throughout the future. They may not all use the same characters, but they will use the same world. And the world of Bloodmyr is big. Very big. 🙂

I’m very happy to hear there will be more! Would the RPG involve this world, or another?

How you’ve built this world, and these characters has been very refreshing, and enjoyable. Thank you.

I have just finished reading your series and I have to say it was very good. I was just wondering if you plan on taking the potential for conflict between lae and the Zyvdredi further. In the third book it is implied that lake may be a target now. That particular foreshadowing is kinda stuck in my head and I would love to read about it further if you were to write about it.

I’m still working to outline what would be considered the “fourth” book in the series. Technically, it would be either a standalone title or the beginning of a second series which follows the timeline and events of the first set.

It’s unknown exactly when it will be released. And sorry for the late reply. I’ve had the devil trying to get my website running faster than the tortoise walks. It was so bad that I couldn’t post replies (like this) without the website timing out.
